Rainbow Kitchen Community Services is collecting winter outerwear for the cold days ahead, and we URGENTLY need your help! We would like to be able to provide at least 600 winter coats to our neighbors in need in Homestead and surrounding communities – and we are currently just about halfway to our goal. Every coat counts, so whether you have one or two coats to donate, or are holding a coat drive, your contribution will make all the difference this winter for someone in need.

We are accepting donations of new and clean, gently-used winter outerwear. Coats are needed in all sizes, infants through adult. People who are experiencing homelessness often layer up, so plus sizes XL, 2X, 3X etc. are especially appreciated.

A few important details:

  • If you are holding a coat drive, feel free to post and distribute our coat drive flyer.
  • Due to space constraints, we can only accept winter outerwear – winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, children’s snowsuits, also socks and hand/foot warmers. NO indoor clothing, footwear, or any other types of items.

Coat Drop-off Information

Please drop off coats by Thursday, October 12th to allow time for sorting. We will be distributing the coats on Oct. 18th, 19th & 21st. Coats can be dropped off at
